New museum?
It seems Elisabeth Beresford's home on Alderney may be turned into an official Wombles museum, according to a press report. The island only has about 2,000 inhabitants and the late author's home in St Anne's is well known for its display of Wombles in the window. A museum's a great idea, not just to keep the Wombles in the public eye, but also to promote Alderney itself - a proud postage stamp of an island which I thoroughly enjoyed visiting. Let's hope the museum opens soon...
